Specified Technologies, Inc. (STI®) Firestop Sealants
STI offers a variety of firestopping caulks, sealants, putties, collars, fire-rated pathways, and more—such as the as SpecSeal® ES Elastomeric Firestop Sealant and SpecSeal® Smoke ‘N’ Sound Acoustical Sealant.
- SpecSeal ES Elastomeric Firestop Sealant – High-performance, latex-based sealant designed for a wide range of construction joint applications and dynamic environments. Its elastomeric properties are ideal for firestopping joints subject to vibration, thermal expansion, building sway, or other structural movement. UL- and FM-approved. Meets ASTM E90, E1966, G21, and CAN/ULC-S115.
- SpecSeal Smoke 'N' Sound Acoustical Sealant – Acrylic latex sealant engineered for sealing through-penetrations including pipes, conduits, cabling, busways, and various mechanical openings (P-traps, electrical outlet boxes in smoke-rated wall assemblies). FBC-approved. Meets ASTM C834, D217, E90, G21.
Metacaulk® Firestop Products by RectorSeal® & Balco
Under parent company CSW Industrials, Inc., RectorSeal and Balco offer many high-quality Metacaulk products (sealants, putties, coatings, wraps, etc.) to prevent the spread of flames, hot gases, and smoke through penetrations and joints in fire-rated construction.
- Metacaulk 1200 Caulk Grade Red – Single-component, general-use, fire-rated sealant for construction joints. Cures to an elastomeric membrane seal suitable for dynamic movement areas. Prevents spread of flames/smoke/hot gas/water through joint openings. Meets ASTM E 814, E1399, and E1966.
- Metacaulk 150+ Firestop Sealant – General-use, fire-rated sealant for construction joints and through penetrations. Activated with fire exposure to prevent spread of flames, smoke, gasses, and water. For interior use. Paintable and VOC-compliant. Meets ASTM E814 and 1966.
Soudal Firestop Solutions
Soudal firestop products (sealants, caulks, foams, and more) prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and toxic gas through construction openings like fire-rated walls and floor assemblies.
In particular, check out Soudacryl Acoustical Smoke & Sound, a professional-grade acrylic sound sealant offering:

In particular, take a look at the Fire Barrier Sealant FD 150+ (Red) at CBSI: a gun-grade, latex-based elastomeric sealant to control the spread of fire, smoke, and noxious gases before, during, and after fire exposure. This sealant has been fire-tested up to 3 hours, and it meets ASTM E 814, 1966 and CAN/ULC S115.
